5 Ways to Spice Up Your Friendsgiving
It’s that time of year again! It’s time to bring your friends together and have an amazing Friendsgiving. Here are 5 ways to upgrade your Friendsgiving!
Light it Up
Here at Vowlá, and at our sister company ROCKNEVENTS, we love to use candles to create a romantic and cozy mood. Sprinkle little tea light and tapered candles throughout to not only create height and dimension, but bring that beautiful glow to your tablescape. Since those types of candles tend not to smell, it won’t be too overwhelming for your friends. However, if you want to bring even more of a Fall mood to your Friendsgiving, use at least one scented candle that smells like, for example, apples, cinnamon, or pumpkin. Make sure you use either soy candles, such as these from P.F. Candle Co, or candles infused with essential oils from, for example Bath & Body Works, to avoid excess smoke.
Dress to Impress In Your Fall Best
Another way to upgrade your Friendsgiving is to give your friends a dress code. Have them dress in their Fall best! Bring out those trench coats, heeled boots, scarves, etc. When you have your friend group dress up, it automatically makes the occasion more luxurious.
From Cards to Charades It’s Game On
After you eat your Friendsgiving feast, keep the fun going by scheduling a fun game right after. It could be anything from Charades, Spicy Uno, Trivia, etc. Having a game after eating will not only help your friends digest, but will also bring a sense of structure to your Friendsgiving that will make it feel extra special.
The Warm & Cozy Element
When decorating for your Friendsgiving, bring in cozy elements such as pillows, rugs, and blankets. Drape a blanket or throw over the sofa (we love this one from Urban Outfitters) , add cute pillows to the chair, or throw a rug under your table! Make sure these cozy elements are in Fall colors such as warm oranges and reds, as well as an emerald green or gold. This will automatically make your guests feel more at home, but will also make them feel that added sense of design and effort.
Label Across the Table
Finally, one last way to add a lux element to your Friendsgiving it to label well, almost everything. Add little seating cards to your tablescape for your friends, or label each food that is set out. You can also even set up a little sign on the table or entrance saying “Welcome In” or “Happy Friendsgiving”. We love using printable labels from Paper + Things to make labeling easy. The little label elements will bring a personal and upgraded touch to your event.
